Visiting Nurse Services

Christian Scientists are united in purpose with all those seeking ways to provide loving human care for individuals who are experiencing disease and suffering. Christian Science nursing is one way to assist those who are using this Science to meet the claims of disease and discord. Christian Science nursing is not just a substitute for medical nursing, but wherever required it is an effective aid in spiritual healing.

One means through which Christian Science nursing blesses is the visiting nurse services for Christian Scientists maintained in many metropolitan areas as corporations supported by individual Christian Scientists. These services are unique in the help they give in tempering and healing mental and physical disorders. Certain underlying spiritual facts concerning Christian Science nursing as a whole must be recognized in order for one to reap the full benefit from this service. This recognition might be thought of as weaving a seamless robe, a garment of Christ, with which to invest the holy ministry of Christian Science nursing, so that those who touch its hem may be made whole.

There is need for a consecrated, conscious realization of the promised Comforter as the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. When Christ Jesus began his ministry, he recognized that he was fulfilling the prophet Isaiah's saying recorded in Matthew, "The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up."Matt. 4:16;
