Available to the individual are spiritual forces which, when understood and utilized, have tremendous influence for good in human experience. When one awakens through the study and practice of Christian Science to his true nature as the reflection of God, Spirit, and identifies his consciousness with the divine, he finds great changes for good taking place.
Mrs. Eddy writes, "Between the centripetal and centrifugal mental forces of material and spiritual gravitations, we go into or we go out of materialism or sin, and choose our course and its results."Miscellaneous Writings, p. 19; Following this statement she asks, "Which, then, shall be our choice,—the sinful, material, and perishable, or the spiritual, joy-giving, and eternal?"
Such evils as carnal-mindedness, fear, and resentment are exposed in Christian Science as forces destructive to morals, health, and success. But this Science teaches that in the measure we align ourselves with and utilize the spiritual forces, or qualities, of divine Mind, we are able to destroy the so-called negative forces of evil that disrupt human existence.
