Christian Science was presented to my husband and me at a time of financial depression, when all sources of income seemed to be disappearing quickly. We were becoming fearful, for this was at a time when our young children were attending private schools, as all the children of our friends were. As a result of the trade depression it was necessary that one of my husband's offices be closed and he be moved to one in another city.
Until such time as we could find a house in the new location, my husband stayed with friends. The wife was a Christian Scientist. It was then that my husband saw that this was the religion for us. When he came home on weekends, he talked of Christian Science to me. I soon shared his interest, and we began the study of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, as well as the Bible Lessons.
I had been brought up in a religious home, and will always he grateful for the good foundation and principles it gave me; but in Christian Science and its spiritual interpretation of the Bible I found the practical and satisfying religion I needed.
