WORDS FOR THE WORLD

(to be accompanied by guitar)

From the January 1971 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Let peace begin with me.
Let my eyes always see
man as he was made to be
"in the beginning."

Let Love encompass all
my thoughts, my words, my small
moments through days too tall
for any dimming.

Let Soul's beauty shine through
each daily thing I do
for myself or for you—
some meekness winning.

Let life be lived with joy
by every girl and boy
unafraid to employ
Truth in tough innings.

Let the intelligence
of Mind govern events
today and recompense
men's seeming sinning.

Spirit is All-in-all
in spite of what some call
matter, or Adam's fall,
or apemen grinning.

Peace, peace begin with me!
Let my eyes always see
man as he was made to be
"in the beginning."
