It is with sincere gratitude and thanks to God that I write this testimony of healing. For seventeen years Christian Science has met my every need. In January, a year ago, I became very ill, and a doctor was called to conform to the rule in the retirement home where I live that we have one if necessary. He could not do anything for me. I was unconscious and seemed to be passing on. In this state of unconsciousness I was taken to the hospital.
A Christian Science practitioner gave me treatment through prayer, having been told that it was my desire to rely upon Christian Science. She told me to rouse myself, which I was soon able to do, helping myself to "rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 393). I felt the power of prayer being offered for me by the members of the branch Church of Christ, Scientist, of which I am a member. I am now restored to perfect health and strength with gratitude to God for His love and healing.
I am very grateful to Christian Science. It has taught me so much and as I study our textbook, Science and Health, I gain a better understanding of the Bible. Our textbook is indeed the key to the Scriptures. My desire now is that I may always be ready to help those who want to know the Truth as taught in Christian Science.
