Our family have received so many benefits from the study of Christian Science that space would not allow the full record of these wonderful events. However, one healing in particular was an important waymark in our progress.
One day when our son was three and a half years old (he's in college now), he came into the house whimpering. I was on the phone and did not immediately go to him. Before I could hang up, he had fallen to the floor. I picked him up and talked about God, how much He loved him, and how He always cared for His children. He refused his lunch, so I put him down for a nap. Immediately I began prayerful study, using the Concordances, the Bible, and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, trying to dispel the fear that was engulfing me. When the child awoke, he was extremely feverish and fussy. He slept fitfully that night, and the next day the picture had not changed.
I decided to call a Christian Science practitioner. He assured me of God's love for me and the boy and referred me to several helpful passages in Science and Health. We were in touch with the practitioner daily. Several days passed with no apparent change; in fact, the boy became delirious and would not eat. As a mother, I was feeling a great sense of burden.
