The Christian Science Board of Directors announces the appointment of Paul D. Sampson of Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts, as Executive Manager of The Christian Science Publishing Society.

Mr. Sampson came to the Publishing Society as Assistant Manager in 1970. He succeeds Robert C. Bergenheim, who became Executive Manager in 1969, and who has resigned. Mr. Bergenheim was Boston City Hall reporter for The Christian Science Monitor from 1948 to 1957 and New England News and City Editor from 1957 to 1960. In 1960, he was named Assistant to the Manager of the Publishing Society, becoming Assistant Manager in 1965.

Before Mr. Sampson came to the Publishing Society, he was President of the Detroit plant and headquarters of Metromail, a division of Metromedia, Inc., a major complex of communication and entertainment enterprises. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he earned both his B.A. and M.B.A. degrees.
