I am everlastingly grateful for Christian Science, for the protection and care it gives us when we faithfully study each day with a sincere desire to gain more spiritual understanding. On page 315in the textbook, Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy writes, "Jesus' spiritual origin and understanding enabled him to demonstrate the facts of being,—to prove irrefutably how spiritual Truth destroys material error, heals sickness, and overcomes death."
One year my husband and I were given a lovely opportunity for a month's vacation in southern California. Relatives were going to Europe and asked us to oversee their home while away. My husband, not being a Christian Scientist, had his regular checkup by his doctor before we left, as there had been what the medical profession diagnosed as heart attacks. He was advised that all was well.
We had a grand time the first three or four days—swimming in the nearby ocean and sight-seeing. About the fourth night my husband began having difficulty such as he had had previously.
