CHURCH IN ACTION News and Announcements

IYM strikes responsive chord

From the November 1974 issue of The Christian Science Journal

There was something substantial for everyone at the International Youth Meeting.

The young people who came to Boston last July 29, 30, and 31 represented at least 30 different cultures and countries. What they all shared was their Mother Church membership and their desire to be more active, more deeply committed, Christian Scientists.

For many it was the discovery of a bigger family than they knew they had. One young person commented on the "feeling of oneness and love" and continued, "I think that's one thing we're here for." It was a time for communication with new friends, for mutual support, for deepening individual and collective conviction.
