Healing in Christian Science follows full response to the power of divine Truth. Truth is a synonym for God, and so the power of divine Truth is a manifestation of God, of His law, His omnipotence. This power is ever available, ever active, always effective. Our response to it determines its influence upon us. Christian Scientists attest to this fact as they write of healings in this and other Christian Science periodicals or testify to them at Wednesday testimony meetings in churches across the world.
Quoting Proverbs, Mrs. Eddy depicts Christianly scientific response. "'As in water face answereth to face,' and in love continents clasp hands, so the oneness of God includes also His presence with those whose hearts unite in the purposes of goodness." And she continues: "Of this we may be sure: that thoughts winged with peace and love breathe a silent benediction over all the earth, cooperate with the divine power, and brood unconsciously o'er the work of His hand."

Genuine response implies attention, acceptance, and acknowledgment. But if our response is to error instead of to Truth, problems loom. So it is well to question ourselves: Are we attentive to Truth even while error would appear to be demanding attention? Do we accept Truth even when it would seem easier to accept error? Do we, in logic and intelligence, acknowledge the all-power, the all-action of Truth? If we can answer in the affirmative, proportionate proof of the harmonizing, comforting, healing effect of Truth will be ours.
