SUNDAY SCHOOL: Improving Your Teaching (Part III)

From the December 1975 issue of The Christian Science Journal

This series of three articles on improving our Sunday School teaching, which began in June, discussed, first, the need of an earnest longing on the teacher's part to be a better teacher. This deep desire impels us to pray for and seek more effective approaches to our teaching, and since it is motivated by love for others and for Christian Science, it brings into our experience the active inspiration and support of God.

Then we cited the first sentence of the answer our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, gives in the textbook to "How can I progress most rapidly in the understanding of Christian Science?" She says, "Study thoroughly the letter and imbibe the spirit" (Science and Health, p. 495). So we dealt in our second article with how studying the letter of Christian Science plays an important role in improving our Sunday School teaching.

Now we come to the third and last part of this series: imbibing the spirit.
