This experience of a Christian Science Society in Nevada illustrates one of the ways a committee for care can help meet the need of fellow branch church members.
A member called a Christian Science practitioner to help her work out a physical problem resulting from a fall. As she lived alone and was unable to walk, members of the society took turns staying with her until they were able to hire a fellow member to come in regularly to fix her meals and help with routine needs.
After a few weeks and obvious progress, the regular helper had the opportunity to go on a vacation with her family. Again members pitched in and a scheduled time was assigned to each, daily and nightly, to take turns helping out.
"It was gratifying to all to see the progress and the overabundance of help that everyone so willingly gave," the report said. "We are so happy to have this member attending church services again regularly, and walking in without the need of assistance."
