For several years I was a registered medical nurse and instructor at a university college of nursing. I had had five years of college and nurses training, and was planning to complete work necessary to earn my master's degree in nursing education when I married a student of Christian Science. My husband did not push the subject of Christian Science, but as I saw the results of his study and practice of Science, I became increasingly interested in its study. From there, one reward led to another. Various healings in the family proved to me at last that Christian Science is the truth that mankind needs.
"The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Heb. 4:12). These words from the Bible, along with words of Mrs. Eddy's regarding healing and combating fear, contributed greatly to a healing I had some years ago.
I was an active member of a local community organization that seemed to have many difficult problems. I had tried to gain dominion in this situation, but found myself becoming more deeply and overly involved. As I hurriedly left a particularly trying meeting one day, feeling tense and upset, I fell down a flight of concrete steps.
