Our Divine Substance

From the September 1976 issue of The Christian Science Journal

With God's help, should any trying situation arise, we have no basis for fear. God is all-powerful, all-intelligent, all-loving, and we abide in Him. Nothing can possibly happen to remove us from His protective influence. Why, then, should we suffer any fear? If it arises, it is of human making. It is not based on reality.

Man's real habitation is God, divine Mind. His true substance is the divine consciousness. Paul apparently perceived something of this truth when he said of God, "In him we live, and move, and have our being." Acts 17:28; In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy gives us "the scientific statement of being," part of which reads, "All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." Science and Health, p. 468;

Man's real substance is divine consciousness. God's presence is with him at all times. There can be no separation between God and His idea, man. Man is at one with Him; God and man have a perfect unity. The Father is always conscious of man, and constantly blesses him with the perfect guidance of His wisdom.
