Poems

immaculate perception

From the October 1978 issue of The Christian Science Journal

unencumbered man
does not rise phoenixlike
from the ashes of mortality
into a bright new day—
but radiates constantly
at the center of Soul's allness

man has never had dual citizenship in the lands of Spirit and matter—
he is not lost and then found
sick and then well
mortal and then divine—
but exists at the standpoint
of changeless perfection

conception
immaculately perceived
