These words by the poet James Russell Lowell, which are part of Hymn No. 258 in the Christian Science Hymnal, point to a present glorious opportunity.

The Mother Church is called upon to look outward to the needs of mankind as never before—to share the blessings of Christian Science more fully with others, at the same time that Christian Scientists are striving to demonstrate these blessings more faithfully themselves. The world's great hunger for spirituality brings new occasions for love, and new duties to make this love tangible.

The Mother Church can do much toward making the love of Christian Scientists felt at points of special need around the world. What members contribute throughout the year enables the church to give, do, and help more. The current list of funds includes:
