I was enrolled in the Christian Science Sunday School at a very early age, and I loved attending regularly whenever I lived close enough to a Christian Science church. This foundational teaching and my own study of Science have brought harmony and healing into my life on many occasions.
Class instruction in Science was a joyous and wonderful experience, for which I am deeply grateful. When we moved to another state, my husband and I decided that distance should not keep me from being at my yearly students' association meeting, and funds for the long trip have always become available when needed. To me it has been proof of this statement by Mrs. Eddy (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 307): "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies. Never ask for to-morrow: it is enough that divine Love is an ever-present help; and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need every moment."
Several summers ago I was severely sunburned from my thighs to my ankles. No one else was aware of this. While I was showering the following evening, error seemed to scream at me, "Go on, admit it. Tell your husband how bad you feel and ask him to pray for you." Immediately, this inspiring thought from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy flooded my consciousness (p. 471): "The facts of divine Science should be admitted,—although the evidence as to these facts is not supported by evil, by matter, or by material sense,—because the evidence that God and man coexist is fully sustained by spiritual sense. Man is, and forever has been, God's reflection. God is infinite, therefore ever present, and there is no other power nor presence." I knew I was healed, and the following day the skin on my legs was normal.
