One Friday I was ill with an abscessed tooth. I called a Christian Science practitioner, who steadfastly supported me through prayer. And I prayed, too. After a time, despite the pain and swelling, I was able to drop off to sleep.
During the night, I woke, conscious of the gentle but irresistible operation of God's healing law. Then I realized that something was draining in the back of my throat. Also, the pain and feeling of pressure were gone. This was on Sunday.
Although I felt perfectly well the next morning, my return to work was delayed until Tuesday, when all the swelling, which had been extreme, had subsided. This was eight or nine years ago, and I still have that tooth. Subsequently, dental X-rays have been taken, but no comments have ever been made about the tooth.
