Peace won

All out in the open now—
so clear the failure
to stifle rebellious gnashing wail
of injured pride railing against situation's injustice—
those words, "I hate . . ."

Human mind's vain struggle unfolding—
how could they come, those wounding words,
to hinder spiritual progress after all
I'd done? heard? learned?
The message, Wait . . .

God's kingdom everywhere—
no absence of Truth's likeness in me here
or in them, there.
No iron will that refuses still to bend.
Only the peace of Love that will not yield
nor end ....
