"When am I going to be able to stand up and give a testimony?" The question was directed to a woman who had given an inspiring account of healing at a Wednesday evening service in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. The testifier looked at the other woman with great compassion, and without a trace of self-righteousness or superiority replied, "When you love enough!"
It is love and gratitude that lift us from the pew to share with the congregation the blessings we've received. How often, though, have you been riveted to your seat when you've yearned to rise? Perhaps you have even gone to a service thinking of sharing an experience you've had, only to find yourself listening instead to suggestions like these: What I have to say isn't really that important. I can't speak with ease and freedom the way others do. Well, I'll give this testimony sometime later— maybe next week.
Do these suggestions sound familiar? They've probably come to many of us at one time or another. Even to those we've mentally designated as speaking with the utmost ease and dominion.
