Our family has witnessed many healings through the study of Christian Science, but the following ones stand out.
Shortly before the birth of our third daughter the doctor told us that there were physical complications that could cause the baby's death during delivery. Both the doctor and nurse looked very troubled, and I remember feeling great compassion for them. At this time I was fairly new to the study of Christian Science, but there was no doubt in my mind that the child's true being was perfect. Trusting in this truth, I knew that the birth would be safe. Soon after the doctor's declaration, the baby was born normally without any pain to me, and she was fine. Both the doctor and the nurse declared it was the most peaceful birth they had ever attended.
Before our fourth child was born I had a deep desire to join The Mother Church, but I had severe anemia and although I did not take any other form of medication, I felt it necessary to have iron shots during the pregnancy. Because of the anemia, the doctor who would be attending the birth said it would be necessary for me to have my blood checked weekly. Also I was to take iron pills daily.
