Many wonderful healings have occurred in my life since I began my study of Christian Science. I particularly want to share one that has been very special to me.
Some years ago I began to experience occasional episodes during which, although I remained conscious, I was for a few minutes unable to read or speak. These episodes, though very brief, increased in frequency. From time to time I requested help through prayer from a Christian Science practitioner, and I greatly appreciated the sense of freedom that resulted. But the problem would return. Although I was not fearful, I realized the need for complete healing. At one point it had been two or three months since the difficulty had occurred and I was greatly encouraged. I felt it was safe to drive and to carry on with my usual activities.
Then one day as I was driving out of our garage, I felt the familiar symptoms beginning. This time, though, I blacked out completely and woke in an ambulance en route to a hospital. A neighbor had found me unconscious in my car and had telephoned for emergency service. I was grateful for this neighbor's concern, and for the reassurance that my car had merely drifted to the side of the road and stopped; no one had been hurt.
