"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;...

From the July 1986 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding" (Prov. 3:5).

Soon after I became a student of Christian Science, well over fifty years ago, I found myself with a personal relationship problem. It involved a subtle form of domination by another that I did not recognize as such until several years later, when I was becoming depleted— physically, mentally, and financially.

I didn't feel able to deal with the problem myself, so I sincerely prayed to be led to one who could help meet my need. The name of a Christian Science practitioner living in another city (whom I did not know firsthand) came to thought. I felt so certain that my prayer had been answered that I called immediately for an appointment. She graciously set a date and time.
