"Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold...

From the July 1986 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law" (Ps. 119:18). I can testify that for more than thirty-eight years God has been my sole physician and protector. Throughout this time I have gained a clearer understanding of the "wondrous things" of His goodness and love, of His omnipotence and all enveloping presence. Daily study of the Bible Lesson outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly has taught me how to put prayer into practice—prayer that digs down deep into the soil of consciousness where the seed of Truth can root.

Each of my healings, I feel, is someone else's blessing too. For when we affirm our innate spiritual perfection, mankind universally benefits from it. In this spirit of gratitude I would like to share the following.

At one time symptoms of a nervous breakdown seriously threatened my well-being. As healing of the condition proceeded gradually, I felt a deepening sense of my eternal, unbroken oneness with God. The irrefutable fact that man coexists with the Mind that made him became clearer to me, and I was fully and permanently healed.
