Revival

From the January 1989 issue of The Christian Science Journal


There's a story about a woman from the South in the United States who visited a staid northern church in New York City. The service was formal, cool, perfect. Finally one of the preacher's mild points seemed worthy of response, so the woman sang out, "Amen and hallelujah!"

Immediately, five formally attired and boutonniered ushers rushed up and surrounded her. "Is anything wrong?" they whispered.

"No," she said, "I've got religion!"
