Someone to talk to

From the January 1990 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"I wish I had someone to talk to about this." Sound familiar? Well, we do, so go ahead. God is right here and able to fulfill our needs.

Where do we start? How do we talk to God so He will hear us? In the privacy of quiet, humble prayer we can ask for His guidance and then listen for His direction. When we do, we discover we are not alone or apart from Him.

Talking to God through prayer is communion, so it requires listening more than talking. We are not outside God talking at Him. In reality we are His spiritual offspring, so we communicate from within His allness, and listening helps us begin to feel His presence. Then we become conscious of the embrace of God's all-inclusive wholeness. We begin to feel the peace of knowing that we are always at one with Truth and Love.
