To read Science and Health with new eyes

From the January 1990 issue of The Christian Science Journal

There are men and women in various parts of the world who are reading Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy for the first time. A unique and wonderful experience awaits them—seeing through new eyes the spiritual truths that Christ Jesus employed in his healing works, works he said his followers are to do. Physical, mental, emotional regeneration, in some measure, is sure to result.

Approaching Science and Health with a sense of freshness and expectancy is not limited to the first-time investigator. We can do it even if we have been delving into this book for a long time.

I know. Last year I was reading some of the testimonies of physical healing experienced by readers of Science and Health in the early days of the Christian Science movement, and it struck me why these men and women got such marvelous proofs of God's restorative power. They went after Science and Health with all they had. Finding out what this book was all about wasn't something they fitted into their other activities and interests. It was on the front burner—with the fire turned up high! And not surprising, they experienced the great benefits that always accompany a wholehearted reaching out to Christ, Truth.
