In the past The Christian Science Publishing Society has extended permission to branch churches and care services to taperecord a reading of the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly — Bible Lessons under special circumstances of need. This allowance was made in place of the availability of the Lesson Sermon on audio tape. The Publishing Society is now offering Christian Science Quarterly Bible Lessons, Audio Cassette Edition, an authorized cassette tape version of the Bible Lessons, which is published and copyrighted by the Publishing Society. Permission is no longer being given for the recording of lesson tapes. Any recording of the Bible Lessons or duplication of the Audio Cassette Edition beyond individual personal use is not allowed. Qualified individuals with special needs may still receive a low-cost subscription to sound recordings of the Bible Lessons from Talking Books Publishers, Inc., P.O.Box 1653, Englewood, CO 80150-1653, phone: (303) 778-8606.
1992 Youth Meetings have begun! Local Christian Scientists have initiated these meetings and opened them to all young people in their areas. Participants, aged twelve through thirty, explore prayer-based answers to questions on identity, morality, relationships, careers, and what individuals can do about world problems like pollution, violence, economic anxieties, homelessness. The meeting format includes talks, workshops, music, as well as time for informal sharing, making new friends, and thinking about what's being said.
