Branch church dedications

Dedication of a branch church or society is a public affirmation of the importance of Church in the lives of Christian Scientists and in the community. When an edifice is free of debt, churches and societies often hold a dedicatory service.

Branches and societies have, within the last few months, sent notification and documentation to The Mother Church of such services in the following communities:

Camberley, Surrey, England
(First Church) December 8, 1991

Alton-Godfrey, Illinois
(First Church) December 8, 1991

Cannes, France
(First Church) March 1, 1992

Chester, California
(Society) April 12, 1992

A continuing invitation to write

Do you have an article in mind? Some spiritual insight you've been wanting to share? Writing and contributing metaphysical articles is an important avenue of spiritual growth; a way to grow individually and to help others. If you would like to submit articles or poetry for the Journal, Sentinel, and Herald—or religious articles for The Home Forum page of the Monitor—the Editors would love to receive them.

The periodicals depend on articles contributed by members of The Mother Church, and we are always interested in fresh inspiration and its practical healing results, written in lively, contemporary style. Testimonies are invited from members as well as those who haven't yet joined The Mother Church. Seasonal material should reach us at least six months prior to the target date.

A few guidelines may help you and can be obtained by writing to:

A member of The Mother Church who represents himself or herself as a Christian Science nurse shall be one who has a demonstrable knowledge of Christian Science practice, who thoroughly understands the practical wisdom necessary in a sick room, and who can take proper care of the sick.

"The cards of such persons may be inserted in The Christian Science Journal under rules established by the publishers. " (Article VIII, Section 31, of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy.)

Members of The Mother Church who are interested in supporting our Church's healing ministry as Christian Science nurses are warmly invited to be in touch with us. Please write to us at:
