Dear Reader,
"Physicality renewed, and lost lives regenerated through spiritual healing—that's our story." These were some of the words spoken at the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church this past June. Yes, spiritual healing is the story of Christian Science. It includes the overcoming of sin and selfishness as well as the healing of physical disease. It also includes the discovery of man's tremendous potential as God's reflection.
The benefits of Christian Science healing are universally available—everyone is worthy of God's love. In the light of such a gift, it is interesting to note Jesus' words "Unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required." If the example of Jesus' life indicates something of that requirement, one could conclude that spiritual-mindedness is vital to its fulfillment. After he fed a multitude with a few loaves and fish, many of the people followed him, wanting more. Jesus observed, "Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled." When he finally told them, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing," the demand for spiritual-mindedness couldn't have been more clear.
