I have cherished my membership in The Mother Church for several decades, and my gratitude for healing is beyond expression.
More than a few times I've experienced immediate, divine help. One morning during my term as Second Reader in our branch church, I was almost overcome with heart palpitations and dizziness just before going onto the platform. I turned instantly to God, feeling confident that I was in His service and would receive the help I needed. A sentence that came to me from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures begins, "The calm, strong currents of true spirituality...." Calmness and strength were just what I needed. (The entire sentence reads, "The calm, strong currents of true spirituality, the manifestations of which are health, purity, and self-immolation, must deepen human experience, until the beliefs of material existence are seen to be a bald imposition, and sin, disease, and death give everlasting place to the scientific demonstration of divine Spirit and to God's spiritual, perfect man.")
I was suddenly very clear that spirituality was the only fact of my being, and that I could totally refuse the imposition of a material condition, which was not of God's creation. The symptoms subsided as I walked to the door to the platform, and they have never returned.
