I'm so glad to share a recent healing. This evidence of the power of prayer and trust in God's care came about, in part, because of the many wonderful testimonies shared in the Christian Science periodicals.
Several months ago I found a lump under my eyebrow. I said something like, "Oh my, a lump under my eyebrow!" Verbalizing those words made me realize right away that this wasn't the way I would heal the condition with prayer. I did not speak of this situation again; as a matter of fact, no one in my family was even aware of this problem. I knew that turning to God to uplift consciousness heals, and that this was the direction in which I wanted to go.
One of the ideas I considered prayerfully was that, because there exists no power separate from God, the only growth going on in reality was spiritual. Mary Baker Eddy wrote in Science and Health, "What we most need is the prayer of fervent desire for growth in grace, expressed in patience, meekness, love, and good deeds." I "lived" with this passage. My growth was to be found in expressing these qualities of God in my daily activities. I refused to be impressed with a condition of matter; disease was not from God, so it had no spiritual reality.
