Christ Jesus taught vital spiritual lessons and healed people so that all of us might have a life that is more abundant. That's what he said: "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" John 10:10. Isn't there something within all of us that yearns for a more abundant life? No matter what we possess, irrespective of where we live, most of us want a fuller, freer, more progressive life. We're drawn to such a life regardless of our social position or possessions.
What we eventually come to learn is that a truly abundant life has nothing to do with an abundance of matter. Materiality, in fact, ultimately leaves us wanting and needing something else. Jesus' promise is that we can find freedom, through Christ, Truth, from the limits, the illusion, of material living.
So then, what are we to have an abundance of if it's not matter in some form? Well, consider a life abundant with wisdom, always having the wisdom you need to make the right choice, to make the best use of your talents, of your energies, of your whole life. What about a life abundant in spiritual understanding, knowing all you need to know about the substance, laws, and nature of Spirit, God? How about a life abundant in health? A life free from illness, disability, decline. A life of harmony only.
