Award received for Christian Science Sentinel design

From the February 1994 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Members of the Sentinel's production and design staff occasionally use art as well as photography on the covers. Last March we printed an issue with the focus "Life governed by God, not chance." The cover included an original watercolor by one of the staff, Whitney Dodds Woodruff, created especially for that issue. Recently the Sentinel received special recognition:

"I'm honored to notify you that your publication, Christian Science Sentinel, March 15, 1993, has been awarded the coveted Ozzie Award for Design Excellence, sponsored by Signature magazine.

"Your publication has been selected to receive an Honorable Mention Certificate for Best Cover, Association, Nonprofit, or Government.

"Winning an Ozzie this year is a significant achievement. We received nearly 1,400 entries, from the best designed publications in the United States and Canada. Each and every entry was carefully screened, reviewed, and evaluated by a nationwide panel of judges—demanding professionals who have won scores of national design awards themselves. . . .

"Congratulations to you and your staff for producing an exceptional publication."
