Perhaps you can imagine how excited I was when I learned I was being sent to the Middle East for a six-week engineering assignment. I love to travel, and had heard from others in my office about the country I was going to visit. Little did I realize that I was about to have a completely different kind of adventure.
Off I went. One night soon after arriving, I woke with symptoms of food poisoning. To make matters worse, I fainted and wounded my head on one of the bathroom fixtures. Although I was bleeding, I remember not being afraid when I came to, for I knew that God was the source of my real life. I was in and out of consciousness for several hours.
One of the other people from my country cared for me that night. In the morning I found myself being examined by a physician, who bandaged my head, prescribed some medicine for my stomach, and promised to call on me daily. I thanked him for his help, but instead of sending for the medicine, I sent a message to the wife of the company's senior engineer, asking her to come and assist me.
