No matter where our daily activities lead us, when we are willing to share with spiritual seekers what we are learning from Science and Health, opportunities often present themselves, even in seemingly unlikely settings. A woman in the state of Connecticut writes:
At a football game party, a woman began a conversation with me. Knowing I was a student of Christian Science, she asked me many questions about it—and especially about Mary Baker Eddy and spiritual healing. We found a lot of common ground in the Bible. I shared with her how the Bible and Science and Health are the pastor of the Church of Christ, Scientist, and she eagerly asked how she could obtain a copy of Science and Health. I later sent her one. Even though my football team didn't win, I had the best time sharing this great book!
While in New York City on business, I met a cleaning woman who was resting in the ladies' room, reading a newspaper. We exchanged "good mornings," and a warm dialogue opened into a discussion of the need to love our neighbor as ourselves, even when others aren't kind to us. She freely shared with me her daily study of the Bible. Her sincerity in looking for Truth was so evident, that I felt compelled to mention Science and Health to her. She was thrilled to know such a book exists, and asked how she could get a copy. "I just can't wait to read it. I'm going to read the whole book!" she said. She had tears in her eyes as she gave me a big embrace. We exchanged addresses and telephone numbers, and I promised to send her Science and Health.
