When a book (or anything, for that matter) has had a tremendous impact for good on your life, how natural it is to share it. That's what the letter I'd received from The First Church of Christ, Scientist (every member got it), was all about. So was the special meeting my Christian Science branch church held in response to this one-to-one sharing program initiated by The Mother Church.
"Each one share one." That's what we called our united commitment to share, individually, the book so precious to every one of us because of its influence for good in our lives. Each church member was being asked to give a copy of Science and Health to someone—a neighbor, relative, friend, co-worker, even a total stranger.
All this was years ago, yet I remember it well because it awakened me to the fuller scope of being a Christian—that of loving God and humanity enough to refuse to let anything (timidity included) make you withhold from your fellow-man that which is most needed and wanted.
