A branch's participation in expanding the availability of Science and Health

From the March 1997 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Publisher's Office received this letter from a branch church in Phoenix, Arizona:

The participation of our branch Church of Christ, Scientist, in The Mother Church's goal to expand availability and accessibility of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy began with the formation of an ad hoc committee. The committee invited the membership to a meeting to generate ideas for giving the textbook. Copies of Science and Health to be purchased for giving were on sale at the meeting. Those in attendance were so inspired by the outpouring of support that they spontaneously purchased every copy. More copies would have been sold had they been available!

One-to-one sharing of the textbook became our church-wide focus. At a subsequent membership meeting, and at a Wednesday evening meeting, copies of Science and Health were piled high on a table in the lobby for giving away. Members were invited to take copies for sharing and to make a contribution later toward the books they took.
