Unity in Love

From the May 1997 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Perhaps today you feel adrift, split up,
without a friend who understands
or companion heart to hear you.
Yet, there is One, your Father-Mother and best friend—
who all-knowingly holds you up,
and comforts you with love's overrunning cup.
You are God's child, and at one with Him;
share with all creation the grace
of His firm eternal embrace.
Receive inspired evangels bearing His wish,
awakening you to spiritual bliss.

God's loved idea can never be alone.
Turn to the Bible, earth's truest guide;
Divine Love's Word will enfold,
uplifting feelings frayed with fear, hurt, anxiety.
Love's precious friendship is never lost,
nor is its peace denied—
God's presence is with you now;
no other friend is so steadfast;
no words so tender with comfort that lasts.

God is the "All-in-all,"p. 468 the one universal Mind.
Now, as you walk your road today, look up,
see your brother or sister spiritually,
perhaps for the first time—
see the perfect, complete expression
of God, His infinite reflection.
Can you ever walk alone, then?
Not in truth. Listen, a friend speaks to you:
"For in him we live, and move, and have our being"Acts 17:28
WE ...
in harmony and unity—
Love made it so.
