Spiritual growth at college

From the June 1997 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Katy graduated last year from Principia College, Elsah, Illinois, with a degree in business administration. She was one of the baccalaureate speakers during the commencement exercises, and sang in the college choir. In the following interview, Katy looks back on her years at college and on the role Christian Science plays in her life. She has been working as a sales associate with an electrical manufacturing company in the American Midwest.

Last year you traveled all over California with your college choir. That must have been fun?

Yes, but it was a packed schedule. We were on call from about seven-thirty in the morning to ten or eleven at night. There were many times when I was very tired. I had to reaffirm constantly that my energy was coming from God and not from human sources. I knew that what we were doing was unselfish work, and that I could not suffer because of it.
