Those who are in procession
Lamenting, crying, even silent with woe,
Gather dust only shuffling feet know.
Christ cometh, entering to
Impart healing power, giving soft commands
To be still, so Love's words may be heard.
Startled by Christ's company,
Feeling the unexpected comforting of Soul
(Spirit's support to mend and make whole),
Those coming out hear the words
"Weep not"—be not dismayed for this;
Only know that matter has neither sorrow nor bliss,
No life to hold or to lose.
Life is spiritual, always vibrant, joyful,
Eternal, ever under God's command and care.
Those exiting and those entering the city
Become witnesses to ever-present Love
Saying "Arise! Awake! Be comforted. Be free!"
The dust is no longer an oppressive cloud to sigh
Through, but to shake from the shoes,
And to loosen from the tongue
Testifying now of immortal Life.
