The following letter may shed further light on issues of spiritual growth and healing

From the November 1998 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The following letter may shed further light on issues of spiritual growth and healing. Last May an editorial with the title "When healing hasn't come—what now?" invited an open dialogue with readers, and there has been some in the ensuing months. Here's an example we thought would be of particular interest to Journal readers.

Re: May editorial "When healing hasn't come—what now?"

I have a reply to this question based on an experience I had. The physical problem lasted over 35 years. However, I kept on studying, getting discouraged, persevering, and asking that old question, "Why?" The difficulty was a respiratory problem. It progressed over the years until I sometimes wondered if I, the only support of myself, would have to quit working.
