Testimonies of Healing

A girl's prayer about warts

From the February 2001 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I'd like to tell about a healing I had of a big wart on the bottom of my big toe. My mom and I started to pray. We called a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me, too. She talked to me about how the wart didn't belong to me, so we weren't going to call it "my wart." Some time went by, but there wasn't much change. Then another little wart started to appear.

Error reminds me of a hair dryer, because I can turn it off.

I began to pray a lot more than before. Then, one evening I decided I was going to get rid of those warts no matter what it took. I started praying on my own, using my mom's copy of Science and Health. I remember that I read, "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive" (p. 463). Another thought I had was that the wart was just an error because God didn't make it. An error reminds me of a hair dryer, because I can turn it off.
