In June of 1884, Carolyn D. Noyes, who had recently taken a course in Christian Science healing from Mary Baker Eddy, wrote to Mrs. Eddy to place an order for a dozen copies of Science and Health for sharing with others. In response Mrs. Eddy wrote, "I am glad you are undertaking to circulate the book that is doing so much good. My students say the book does as much if not more towards healing than they can." Since that time, the "circulation" of this book through Christian Science Reading Rooms, bookstores, individual sharing, and other venues has continued to result in healed and transformed lives.
