FROM THE BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Normal class of 2000

From the March 2001 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The first Normal class of the 21st century (a class for preparing teachers of Christian Science) was held in December by the Board of Education of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, as provided for in the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy (see Art. XXVI, Sect. 4).

Applications for the class again showed a full and wide-ranging interest in this activity. Selection of the members of the 2000 Normal class was made not only on the basis of individual qualifications, but also with a view to the geographical requirements for Christian Science teachers at this time.

This triennial class, held in accordance with the Manual, joins with former classes in their dedication in responding to and meeting the spiritual needs of the new century.
