When I'm Faced with a difficult situation, I find it greatly reassuring that Jesus was never in awe of illness or calamity. He knew that God's goodness and power could triumph in any situation. In fact, Jesus said quite bluntly, "With God all things are possible."Matt. 19:26.
"All things." No good is impossible to God. That's a message that runs through the Bible. A psalm, for example, says: "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies ... The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed." 103:2-4, 6.
When I was just a toddler, my mother was healed of a life-threatening illness through prayer alone. Doctors had said that there was nothing more they could do for her, and that she just had a few more months to live. A neighbor recommended Christian Science. My mother began studying it, asked a Christian Science practitioner to pray for her, and was completely healed.
