This pivotal question and its answer first appeared in a pamphlet called "The Science of Man," written and published by Mary Baker Glover. "The Science of Man," published one year after Science and Health, was a revision of Mrs. Glover's early teaching manuscript "Questions and Answers" in Moral Science.
