Healing helped her take a turn with her talent

She's singing a brand new song.

From the January 2002 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Sometimes we feel so alone, like everything we care deeply about has been taken from us. I went through one of those life-changing experiences several years ago when I was employed in a job that I believed was a milestone in my acting and singing career. Finally, after many years of struggle in the "Big Apple," I'd landed a job in a Broadway national tour, and was doing a show that I loved, and feeling it would lead to my next big break.

However, things turned out quite differently. Two weeks before the tour ended, I had a major bicycle accident. I was required to have a medical exam to determine the extent of the injury, and that only ended up adding to my disappointment. The diagnosis was that I had a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (commonly known as athlete's injury) and two torn ligaments in my right knee. I had to leave the show early, and was very depressed, thinking I had botched things up pretty badly for myself.
