My trust in God to heal every disease was reinforced recently. A noticeable lump had appeared on my back, lasting for a year, despite my somewhat desultory daily prayer about it. In frustration, I briefly considered pursuing medical treatment. Instead, an article I read in the Journal, titled "Healing and the Universal Solvent," inspired me to persist in standing firm for my perfection as a pure idea of God. This article noted that, "prior to their healings, Jesus' patients must have felt that their afflictions were unyielding." It also related the healing of a woman with a condition similar to mine, who was healed when she prayed to become more patient as well as to express other good qualities.
I became more thorough in acknowledging my coexistence with God.
I prayed about this statement in Science and Health: "The devotion of thought to an honest achievement makes the achievement possible" (p. 199). Daily I became more thorough and diligent in acknowledging my coexistence with God whenever I was tempted to believe any evidence to the contrary. The condition became aggravated, but I didn't become discouraged. Instead, I kept praying to realize that my purity, as a reflection of God, was established by divine law. After that, the lump soon disappeared, leaving no trace.
