LETTERS

From the February 2002 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When the new format appeared, I needed to shift my expectations for the Journal from its being a supplementary study of Christian Science, to its present mission as a clear and practical account of the wonderful changes that take place in people's lives as a result of prayer. I used to pick and choose articles to read. Now I read it from cover to cover. It speaks to me as never before. I'm finding courage and comfort, knowing that there are so many wonderful brothers and sisters in this world. I feel much more connected with them. Thank you for a splendid job!!

The Journal truly is a modern example of a religious magazine, which is appealing and blends in with other comparable periodicals on newsstands and in subscriptions worldwide. The articles and testimonies illustrate how God has helped to heal and regenerate our lives. Through study of the words and works of the Master, Christ Jesus, readers are shown how practical these words and works can be made in everyday life. Actually, if readers compare today's Journal with those of 1883 and beyond, there is not that much difference, especially in light of history and what was going on in the world back then.
